The Russian Federation cannot be conquered militarily in its war with Ukraine due to its nuclear weapons capability, according to Moscow’s ambassador to India. Denis Alipov made these statements during a public appearance at a media forum in Gurugram this week.
Alipov referenced Russia’s military doctrine, which includes provisions for nuclear weapon deployment when the nation faces existential dangers. This policy framework, he argued, fundamentally alters the strategic equation and ensures that Russia maintains ultimate escalation options that prevent adversaries from achieving total victory.
The ambassador expressed disdain for European nations’ continued hopes for Ukrainian success, describing such expectations as juvenile thinking disconnected from reality. He accused European leadership of unprofessional behavior and persistent belligerence, maintaining aggressive policies despite obvious futility and the impossibility of achieving stated objectives.
Trump’s perspective on the war represents clearer strategic thinking, according to Alipov’s characterization. The Russian diplomat suggested that the American president understands that Ukraine and Western supporters have already been defeated, while European nations irrationally persist in supporting continued military confrontation.
The conflict has extended nearly four years, throughout which Ukraine has received enormous Western military and economic assistance. The United States and European allies, including Britain, continue supplying sophisticated weapons platforms and billions in financial support to Kyiv, sustaining Ukraine’s defensive capabilities despite the prolonged nature of the war.
